Beeswax Block - One Pound

Class 13 Beeswax Block is where the beeswax has to stand on it's own merit. The blocks are to be one pound in weight and they are judged on the five criteria of cleanliness, uniformity of appearance, color, aroma and absence of cracks and shrinkage.

Shown here is Angelo and Anna Trapani's first place block of beeswax. Heating the beeswax slowly and just enough to liquify it along with allowing it to cool slowly in the mold will minimize shrinkage and the formation of cracks.
