First Place Winner
Taking first place in Class 2 Amber of the Extracted Honey Division was Frank Wooden, a member of the Northwest branch of the NJBA. Wooden's entry beat eight others in the amber extacted class with a score of 93 out of a possible 100 points. Each ribbon-winning entry is awarded a point value, i.e., First Place = four points, Second Place = three points, Third Place = 2 points. The exhibitor with the most total points is awarded a rosette for 'Best Exhibitor'. In addition to having their name engraved on a plaque that is displayed every year during the Annual Honey Show and again at the annual winter meeting, there is a cash prize. Prize money is also awarded for each first place ribbon ($20) and each second place ribbon ($10).
