Beeswax Tapers
Alf and Ceil Berg of Herbertsville Honey earned first place in Class 15 Beeswax Tapers with their entry.
Beeswax candles should ideally be a warm, lemon-yellow in color. Candles made from beeswax burn slowly and don't drip. The honeyed aroma of recently poured beeswax candles may fade with time and the color may face with exposure to light. However, they will continue to burn clean. Beeswax candles over time will develop a film called "bloom" on their surface. It doesn't affect the quality of the candle and, in fact, lets you know it is, indeed, beeswax. It can be removed, if desired, by polishing with a soft cloth.
